Antimafia Squad
The background – Today’s Palermo, caught in a hidden war between mafia families for the leadership of Cosa Nostra, after the arrest of the last godfather, Bernardo Provenzano. The story – Two women and the relationship that binds them: vice chief of police Claudia Mares and young Rosy Abate, member of one of the oldest criminal clans. The first is called to join a special antimafia corps headed by Stefano Lauria. The second, after a long stay in the USA, returns to Palermo for her wedding. The challenge – Even after the brutal assasination of Lauria, the squad will slowly start understanding the new dynamics of the mafia families, their aims and dealings: but this is no longer the era of scribbled notes passed on by hand. It’s phone taps, encrypted messages, satellites and sophisticated espionage technology now. Our team will discover that this is a long war and the danger may also be coming from within…
