Surgeons
Through the eyes of two young junior doctors, Laura and Rebecca, Surgeons tells the story of the harsh reality – but also the human, light-hearted and humorous reality – of an ER department in a provincial hospital. Laura, honest and reserved, is deeply in love with her job, and she approaches it with passion and, perhaps, gets a little too involved sometimes. She dreams of becoming a great doctor but also of winning the heart of a handsome colleague. Exuberant Rebecca, on the other hand, has got where she is through nepotism. She owes her job to her father, a consultant, and she hides her insecurities, caused by her lonely and difficult childhood, behind her rebellious and insolent behaviour. Apparently very different, in reality Laura and Rebecca have passion and sensitivity in common. The series brings together medical cases with the professional and private problems of the characters whose lives interweave in a mixture of comedy, romance and drama.
